ABOUT THE FOUNDER |
Alison and her "Little Sister" while at Colby College in Maine | Alison Meyer Hong has been committed to community service since she was a teen. She participated in charity walks in middle school, volunteered as a Big Sister in high school and college, and later coordinated community service activities for The Newton Mothers' Forum and at The Park School. She volunteered as a college counselor for Breakthrough Greater Boston and was the Site Coordinator for Birthday Wishes at The Second Step. Alison served on the Board of Wondermore and currently serves on the Corporation of Beacon Academy and Board of The New Art Center. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Alison found inspiration while engaged in various volunteer opportunities around Boston. Her experiences underscored the significance of forging connections with peers and the transformative potential inherent in community service. Recognizing that the midlife years can be a particularly intricate and multifaceted period for women, marked by numerous transitions, Alison conceived THE DOING CIRCLE. This innovative initiative aims to create a supportive and empowering community for women at this life stage with a dual commitment to enhancing their individual lives while making a positive contribution to the larger community. |
